We've been taking care of our neighbor's dog, Lewis, for about three months now after her house was foreclosed on.  Unfortunately the only apartment that she is now able to afford does not allow dogs and she won't be able to take Lewis back.  As much as we would love to keep him, three dogs has proven to be too much for Jeff and me to handle in our tiny house, and we just don't have time for the attention and training that Lewis needs and deserves.  So sadly we must begin our search for a new and perfect forever-home for him.

About Lewis:
Lewis is the sweetest boy!!  He's a 4 year old neutered male pit-bull/mastiff mix (that's my best guess).  He's up to date on all his shots and is in great health.  Even though he's pretty big, weighing in at around 80 pounds, he's really gentle with our 18-month old daughter and let's her do pretty much whatever she wants to him.  He never jumps up on people, he is amazingly good on leash (especially with a gentle leader), he knows "sit" and "shake", and he's learning "go lay down".  He's good with our cat, although she is a non-reactive cat.  He's also really good with our dogs Sophie and Kirby, and loves to play and wrestle with them out in our backyard.

He does have a few behavioral issues though.  The biggest one is his separation anxiety which, combined with his big dog strength, has led to some unfortunate destruction of various household items.  He can also be a bit food aggressive around other dogs, but he's totally fine with us humans messing with his dinner.  Despite the few negative issues though, he really is a sweet and goofy boy that just wants to be around his people all the time. He's eager to please and needs a family with the time, patience and dog training skills to overcome some of his bad habits.

Thank you so much and don't hesitate to email me for more information,
